OptimiDoc Destination

The OptimiDoc destination stores scanned documents inside OptimiDoc's own managed storage, where users retrieve them from the web interface. It can optionally e-mail the user a notification containing a download link, and it underpins the download-link fallback used by the Email destination for oversized scans.

How It Works

When a scan template delivers to the OptimiDoc destination, OptimiDoc writes each output document into a per-scan folder inside its managed storage and records it against the scanning user, the device, and the scan workflow. Documents are encrypted at rest when file encryption is enabled. Users then retrieve their scans from the OptimiDoc web interface.

When Notify user by e-mail is enabled, OptimiDoc also sends the scanning user a message -- with your Subject and rich-text Body -- letting them know the scan is ready and including a link to download it.

This same storage-plus-link mechanism backs the Email destination: when a scan is too large to attach, it is stored in OptimiDoc and the recipient receives a download link instead of an attachment.

Configuration

Setting

Description

Notify user by e-mail

When enabled, e-mail the scanning user that their scan is ready, with a download link.

Subject of the notification e-mail (shown when notification is enabled).

No connection settings are required -- the scan is stored inside OptimiDoc.

When to Use

  • For a "scan to my OptimiDoc inbox" workflow, where users collect documents from OptimiDoc rather than from an external system.

  • As an On errors secondary destination, so a scan is never lost if the primary destination is temporarily unavailable.
