The Devices section covers everything related to registering, configuring and monitoring multifunction printers and other output devices in OptimiDoc Server. From adding a new device and installing the embedded application through to real-time supply monitoring and automated email alerts, this section provides everything administrators need to manage their device fleet.
How the Devices Section Fits Together
A device moves through a simple lifecycle in OptimiDoc, and each article below covers one part of it:
-
Register and configure the device — its vendor, licence, terminal behaviour and network settings — on the Managing Devices page, then install the OptimiDoc embedded application onto its panel.
-
Organise the fleet with Tags so devices can be grouped by site, floor or team and acted on in bulk.
-
Communicate with each device over SNMP, which powers model/serial auto-detection and all supply monitoring.
-
Watch the fleet in real time on the Device Monitoring dashboard, and let Monitor Notifications email the right people when supplies run low or a device goes offline.
