OptimiDoc Server Help Center

Develop

Develop multifunction devices are integrated with OptimiDoc using the same OpenAPI platform as Konica Minolta. As an OEM brand sharing the same underlying technology, Develop devices offer identical functionality, authentication options, and terminal features as their Konica Minolta counterparts — the only difference is the licensed solution key, which OptimiDoc selects automatically.

Integration Method

Develop devices use the Konica Minolta OpenAPI protocol for communication with OptimiDoc. The device and server communicate over SSL (port 14267), and OptimiDoc installs an embedded panel or web terminal remotely from the web interface. The integration is functionally identical to the Konica Minolta implementation — the same installer, authentication servers, function-limitation access control, and push-based counter accounting apply.

For the full end-to-end walkthrough (installation, authentication flow, accounting, scanning, and uninstall), see the Konica Minolta page. This page documents only the Develop-specific details.

How the Integration Works

Develop follows the same OpenAPI flow as Konica Minolta:

  1. Installation selects the web terminal installer for any layout above Legacy, or the classic panel installer for Legacy, uploads the Develop solution key and icons, and enables the OptimiDoc application on the panel.

  2. Authentication is handled at the device panel: the device calls back to the OptimiDoc authentication server, which resolves the user, optionally offers card self-assignment, and returns a function-limitation response enforcing per-user access rights.

  3. Accounting is push-based — after every job the device sends a counter notification that OptimiDoc turns into an accounting record in real time.

  4. Scanning is driven natively on the panel through OpenAPI.

  5. Uninstallation removes the OptimiDoc application and authentication registration.

Because Develop and Konica Minolta share the same firmware and OpenAPI stack, they behave identically apart from the solution key.

Supported Models

OptimiDoc supports Develop devices that include the OpenAPI interface:

  • Develop ineo+ series (colour)

  • Develop ineo series (black and white)

These correspond to equivalent Konica Minolta bizhub models with the same firmware and OpenAPI capabilities.

Authentication Methods

Develop offers the same authentication methods as Konica Minolta, gated by Device Authentication:

When Device Authentication is enabled

When Device Authentication is disabled

PIN, Login and Password, Card, Card or PIN, Card or Login and Password, Card and PIN, Card and Login and Password, External Authentication

Single Sign-On only

As with Konica Minolta, Single Sign-On is available only when Device Authentication is disabled, and the User List method is not offered for Develop devices.

Terminal Features

Develop devices support the full OptimiDoc web terminal with all available options:

  • Landing Page configuration

  • Localisation settings

  • Terminal Layout selection (Legacy, Classic, Classic Large Display, Classic Small Display, Modern)

  • Default Application selection

Prerequisites

The prerequisites for Develop devices are identical to Konica Minolta:

  1. Enable OpenAPI on the device. Navigate to the device web interface > Security > OpenAPI Settings and ensure OpenAPI is enabled with SSL.

  2. Set authentication to External Server. Under Authentication settings, set the login method to "External Server Authentication".

  3. Configure SNMP for monitoring if required.

  4. Note the device admin credentials. The OptimiDoc installer requires these to deploy the agent remotely.

Known Limitations

  • Develop devices share the same limitations as Konica Minolta — refer to the Konica Minolta page for details.

  • Although the hardware and firmware are identical, the solution key used for OpenAPI authentication differs between the two brands. OptimiDoc selects the correct key automatically based on the vendor chosen when the device is added.
